Winter's Appointment to the Summer Solstice (Part 3)

The soft sunlight fell on Xia Zhi's fair face, revealing a slight blush.

"Thank you," the man said, looking extremely reluctant. Was this guy's way of thanking her always so cold? Xia Zhi wondered secretly.
"So, how are you going to thank me?" Xia Zhi smiled slightly.
The man was taken aback. "What?"
"Treat me to something to eat," Xia Zhi said without hesitation.
Although the man didn't speak, Xia Zhi knew he had agreed, and she smiled slightly again.
Her slightly flushed face, enhanced by her smile, looked even more captivating.
In the restaurant, at a table by the window,
Xia Zhi looked at the lemon mango pudding the waiter brought over, smiled happily, and eagerly scooped up a small piece of mango with a spoon, putting it in her mouth.
The sweet taste of mango melted in her mouth, flowing from between her teeth into her throat, creating a refreshing sensation.
The man looked at Xia Zhi's satisfied expression, then said disdainfully, "You just wanted me to treat you to this?"
A little bit of white cream smeared the corner of Xia Zhi's mouth. She nodded, seemingly too busy eating to even speak.
The man noticed the cream on her lips and chuckled secretly.
Xia Zhi swallowed the cream and said, "When I was little, my mom always brought me here." She spoke like a proud child.
"Then have your mom treat you." The man glanced out the window.
"She...she's gone..." Xia Zhi kept biting her lower lip.
The man suddenly realized he might have said something wrong, then looked at the girl in front of him with a little cream on her lips, and unconsciously pulled a tissue from the table, reaching his hand towards her face.
Xia Zhi looked up, not yet reacting, when the man had already gently wiped the cream from her lips.
A slightly awkward atmosphere filled the air, and Xia Zhi's heart seemed to quicken slightly.
To break the awkward silence, Xia Zhi finally asked, "And you?"
  The man didn't understand. "What?"
"Your name?" Xia Zhi blurted out.
The man paused, seemingly considering a difficult question, then said, "Dong Yue."
  "Oh." Xia Zhi listened attentively.
"Are you a celebrity?" Xia Zhi asked.
  "Yes." Dong Yue responded softly.
Xia Zhi said "Oh" again, stirred the pudding with her spoon, and then said, "My mother is also a celebrity. She's a singer, and she sings very well..."
Dong Yue listened quietly, as if listening to a story.
"Oh, why am I telling you this?" Xia Zhi pursed her lips and then said sweetly, "It's delicious! Thank you."
Outside the window, the crape myrtle tree was blooming with pale red flowers, not flamboyant, but possessing an indescribable beauty.
