Guardians of life
【I】The wind chimes
, like the notes of life, compose the symphony of time. With their dignified and ancient bearing, they emit familiar, melodious, and crisp sounds. This sound is the language of the wind, the voice of life, the state of movement, and the direction of the heart. It converses with time, questioning it in its unique way and language. It represents a harmonious blend of form and spirit, a solemnity that is both outwardly expressive and inwardly reserved, and a leisurely elegance that has come from ancient times. In
this colorful world, diverse lives always embody value through the principle of survival of the fittest, and endow their lives with dazzling colors through survival skills. Indeed, life itself is not perfect; it oscillates between perfection and imperfection. This is what drives life's pursuit of perfection, interpreting the substantial essence of life's journey, and thus interpreting the theme of life with melodious sounds. Different lives, or even imperfect beauty, release imperfect melodies. Perhaps, in a sense, this is also a perfect presentation.
In life, when we glance back unintentionally, we find that who doesn't yearn for perfection? The moon waxes and wanes, yet it remains perfect. Life, in its course, diligently pursues the core of beauty, like a gentle summer breeze, drifting clouds, or willow branches resembling a harp...
Climbing mountains and gazing into the distance, the views are varied from near to far, high to low. Looking up at the blue sky and white clouds broadens one's mind, allowing one to feel relaxed and at ease... This is a cultivation of the soul and a wonderful spiritual enjoyment, as if stepping into a painting, or a world of poetry, savoring the fairy tale of life. In the global village, people of different skin colors possess different values, which cannot be divided by an equal sign or a simple equation like one plus one equals two. Because everyone's value and thoughts are irreplaceable. From the moment a person is born, they are given a role, a beautiful and pure symbol. Their innocence and purity are precious, like the rising sun, a sacred and undeniable solemn life that creates countless family cells, forming generations upon generations. This is not accidental; it is precisely proof of devout giving and the interpretation of true love. At
this moment, the pen follows the flow of thought, freely traversing the heavens and earth, splashing the seven colors of life, depicting its brilliance. Perhaps this is the true testament to existence, the true manifestation of life's essence. The sky has clouds, the moon still shines; the river has stones, the river still flows… This is the creation of all things with a spirit, this is the unchanging law of nature. The life essence of the wind, embodied in its restraint and persistence, is reflected in the inherent naturalness and freedom of the wind chimes. Like an ancient figure, it moves with the wind, echoing in the valleys with an ethereal, somewhat mysterious quality. In the courtyard, its melodious sound is a warm call resonating in the heart… This sound of wind chimes is distinct from the noisy, mercenary, obsequious, and sycophantic sounds…
The wind chimes of life face the daily trials of time, conversing with it and communicating and whispering to us in their own way… Open your heart and listen to the melody of life played by the wind chimes. Wherever the wind passes, there is the melody of life of the wind chimes, forever resounding in our memories, indelible…
“The road ahead is long and arduous, but I will persevere in my pursuit.” “Unperturbed by honor or disgrace, I calmly watch the flowers bloom and fade in the courtyard; indifferent to coming or going, I idly watch the clouds drift and gather in the sky!” Perhaps living in the present is the true attitude towards life.
[II] Orchid
sat alone in her quiet office. The early winter sun playfully streamed in through the window behind her, warming her back like a fireplace, giving her a feeling of springtime warmth. This warmth seeped through her clothes and into her skin, spreading like a hot spring within her, making her feel as if she were rising under the sun's rays. She simply put down her work, closed her eyes, and enjoyed the sun's favor, savoring this natural comfort. Unconsciously, her body transformed into graceful, ethereal clouds, riding the winter sun to the place of the Crimson Pearl and Divine Stone…
After a brief intoxication, she opened her eyes, and before her was still her familiar world. For some reason, a faint melancholy swept through her heart, and she listlessly turned her gaze back: "Huh! What's that?"
Her weary eyes were attracted by a tiny, pale yellow dot, and her gaze brightened—a delicate, tender, and lovely flower! My spirits lifted. Wasn't it? In this desolate season, with everything withered and yellow, seeing vibrant flowers is such a delightful thing.
Looking closer, I realized the tiny blossoms came from a small, terrestrial plant that had sprouted from the pot of orchids on the ground.
"Wow, its vitality is truly remarkable!" I couldn't help but exclaim.
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of flowers. If I have any affection for them, it's only because I'm attracted to their beauty when they bloom. Growing flowers isn't about being cultured or cultivating one's temperament; it's entirely out of my state of mind. People often say that one's appearance reflects one's heart, and one's environment is created by one's mind. My approach to growing flowers is entirely spontaneous, and therefore, my care for them is also spontaneous, without any particular care or devotion. Once upon a time, in the vibrant summer when the garden was bursting with color, I had ruthlessly plucked away that overgrown garden weed, almost completely cutting off its rampant vines that stretched wildly beyond the pot. I hated that it had absorbed too much nutrition, leaving my once-beloved orchid a pitiful, subservient creature.
But the orchid ultimately disappointed me, its growth failing to meet my expectations. Conversely, the garden weed, undeterred by my actions, continued to grow and thrive. After neglecting it for many days, in this desolate winter, it miraculously blossomed again among its thin, tender leaves—a truly remarkable and admirable sight. Though the flowers were small, they were nonetheless vibrant embellishments against the green backdrop of life, pleasing to the eye.
Reflecting on this, I realize how incredibly resilient plants are, far beyond our imagination. Someone once said, "Any plant that can bloom, as long as it has life, will do its utmost to bloom, even if it dies after blooming, even if it withers from missing the season." Perhaps we've never noticed that there are thousands upon thousands of flowers in nature, but famous flowers are few, and nameless flowers are many. Yet, many flowers do not refrain from blooming because they are nameless, do not give up blooming because they are unnoticed, and do not refuse to bloom because they are humble. Peonies symbolize wealth and nobility, lotuses symbolize innocence, orchids symbolize elegance, plum blossoms symbolize steadfastness, and chrysanthemums symbolize purity… These well-known flowers, imbued with beautiful meanings, become all the more extraordinary and precious. Famous or nameless, no matter which flower grows in its time, no matter what natural environment it is in, it will never give up the desire to bloom. Given the opportunity, it will do its utmost to show people the most splendid moments of its life, even if it's just a fleeting moment like the ephemeral beauty of the night-blooming cereus. Each flower embodies the most essential elements of life. Each flower is an embodiment of wisdom and beauty. A Zen master said, "The verdant bamboo is the Dharma body, the luxuriant yellow flowers are nothing but Prajna." Life should be like this.
"In nature, there is a flower called human, which blooms very late, requiring decades, and tireless effort to finally blossom." I don't remember where I saw this quote, but it remains vivid in my memory. As the masters of nature—the wisest humans—we often lack precisely this spirit of vibrant blooming. The despondency of setbacks, the confusion of loss, the bewilderment of sorrow, the depression of trouble, the despair of pain… all these can cause us to lose our motivation and direction. Thus, some become mediocre, some become pessimistic and world-weary, some blame fate… Life shortens with the passage of time, years slip away like sand in our hands, and the notebook of life remains blank. If you are a vibrant life, there is no reason not to let it bloom! Even if it's only a fleeting moment of brilliance, I have tried; even if it's only a moment of beauty, I have been proud.
"Life is as brilliant as summer flowers!" Reflecting on Tagore's timeless lines, let life bloom in striving, vigor, and upward movement; then, one's life will not have been in vain. Experience is wealth, facing challenges is perseverance, and when we look back, we can say to ourselves without shame: My life, I have bloomed!
[III] The Tide
Human life is like the tide, one wave after another, one after another.
Those who live a life of smooth sailing are few and far between.
One could say that life is like a surfer, riding wave after wave, overcoming countless dangers and hardships to reach the other shore.
Of course, many fail along the way, capsized by the waves and disappearing into the vast ocean.
In the long river of history, the great waves sift through the sands, and we are but a grain of sand among countless others. No matter how mighty the waves, only a very few remain unswept. To be a calm and composed grain of sand is enough to make one's life worthwhile! There
are countless ordinary people, but few saints. Those who can calmly and composedly navigate life must possess extraordinary qualities.
To be a good ordinary person, I believe, is no ordinary person without being extraordinary.
But if one were to completely give up, that would be for life. How can one give up on life?
Everyone should be a brave surfer, facing challenges head-on, overcoming dangers and defusing perils. What can those raging storms and towering waves do to me?
Look at the leisurely and magnanimous wise man; without experiencing countless storms and hardships, how could he have such composure and ease?
Life is like the tide, flowing ceaselessly, rising and falling, coming and going. Will you be a surfer or a floating bubble on the sea? Dreams take flight in your heart, and the road extends beneath your feet!
[IV]
How many obstacles must a person overcome in their life to reach the shore of happiness?
Perhaps the brilliance and preciousness of life lies in those repeated transcendences and continuous climbs!
Therefore, life is full of perilous peaks; only by climbing and surpassing them can one obtain true happiness.
Life moves forward, and time slowly passes by; it is precisely this that allows us to constantly transcend ourselves, conquer ourselves, and create brilliant moments!
Perhaps it is in this continuous climbing and transcendence that we can constantly reflect on ourselves, improve ourselves, and elevate ourselves. Perhaps this is the meaning of life!
The brave in life, the strong in existence, are those who can courageously and resolutely overcome their weaknesses and maximize their strengths!
Life is restless, yet fate calls you to wallow in it; destiny is full of hardships, yet life allows you to find tranquility; society is complex, yet the soul demands silence!
In the midst of despair, life accumulates its essence; in tranquility, life savors happiness; in silence, the soul is sublimated!
How precious life is, how unpredictable destiny is, how invaluable the experiences of life are!
Thus, in the constant midst of despair, we mature; in the constant twists and turns, we conquer destiny; in the constant chaos, we create our own unique and wonderful life!
【V】Traces
A cup of tea during the day, sleepless nights, bringing forth countless thoughts; a touch of sorrow in leisure, always unforgettable, stirring up so much trouble?
Happiness is fleeting, but pain is unforgettable.
Pain, compared to happiness, may be far too long; the various hardships of life are always hard to let go of, while laughter vanishes in the blink of an eye.
People tend to remember the pain they've endured, while the joys of the past have long faded.
Is it that the joys are too shallow and the pain too deep?
Perhaps the pain has already seeped into our skin, penetrated our bones, become an imprint of our lives, and is etched into the deepest recesses of our hearts.
After the storm comes the rainbow, and only after hardship comes sweetness. "A sharp sword is forged through tempering, and the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from bitter cold."
All the trials of life raise the sails of our lives, bolster our courage to live, and become the driving force for our struggles, the wings that propel us forward. Joy,
anger, sorrow, and happiness all become part of life's story; the bittersweet experiences of life are always vibrant and colorful.
After the pain, the smile shines even brighter!
