Summer Night Thoughts
Last night, after a satisfying meal and laughter, I walked slowly under the dim lights, searching for my way home. Looking up at the sky, the view from my neighborhood was so limited that I could only see a faint, lifeless star hanging in the distance. Planes from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport silently cruised across the horizon. Beneath my feet, the gravel path disappeared into the bushes—truly, "the path seems to disappear into the deep grass and trees, but then it appears under my feet!" Everything felt so comfortable and natural.
The quiet summer night, the peaceful mood, and not a trace of weariness. Suddenly, I realized that on a normal day, I would be dragging my weary legs, rushing home from work. But now, I felt so content!
The monotony and pressure of life constantly surround us, unchangeable and unavoidable. Life is simply being born and living on… Birth is accidental, living is inevitable! When you occasionally empty your mind, put down your burdens, and stop to observe and listen to the world, every blade of grass and every tree around you instantly becomes an infinite enjoyment. The beauty of life is everywhere; if you pay attention for a moment, this world is yours for that moment! Life has a hundred flavors; if you're willing, you can taste a thousand different flavors. It's just that we're so busy rushing along with our bodies that we forget the feelings deep within our souls, mechanically consuming our lives, living only to chase after something through wind and rain, wanting to surpass others, surpass ourselves, surpass this world! Actually, on the other side of the mountain, there are still mountains… only because the earth is round, you can never find the edge. So we keep spinning, spinning, until one day, exhausted, we can't spin anymore… and unknowingly, it seems we've returned to the starting point! Everything is still so natural, everything continues to cycle… only in the same world, you are no longer there, and I am no longer there. Perhaps it's other beings spinning, spinning…
