Be friends with books
Although it's only been a little over ten days since my last post, it feels like a much longer time. Today, I suddenly want to talk about books and ask you a few questions.
First, do you enjoy reading?
Second, do you read often?
If your answer to both questions is yes, would you be willing to tell me what type of books you like and read often, and what feelings those types of books evoke in you?
To be honest, those who know me know that I enjoy reading, especially romance novels. Once I'm engrossed in a romance novel, I'm not satisfied until I finish it. Of course, I'm not trying to advertise romance novels. I simply want to talk about books and the importance of being friends with them.
As we all know, books are humanity's best friends and the ladder of human progress. A good book brings different feelings to everyone, offering varying degrees of help. Society is progressing, and one thing we all need to do is keep up with the times and not be left behind. As human beings, we must learn constantly, and the knowledge we acquire is often derived from books.
The ancients made friends through books. Reading history made one wise, reading poetry made one eloquent, mathematics made one meticulous, science made one profound, ethics made one dignified, and logic and rhetoric made one eloquent. This illustrates the importance of reading. As I mentioned before, books are the ladder of human progress, right? Scholars always have one or two profound and classic books. Doctors, to master medicine, naturally need to read and study medical books. Every large restaurant has menus. Of course, there are also authors, journalists, and screenwriters. To write a good article, reading and learning are indispensable. The more books one reads, the more material one accumulates in one's mind. And most importantly, it builds bridges of communication with peers.
Books depict many beautiful things. If you observe carefully and savor them attentively, you will not find it difficult to discover their wonders. Don't be fooled by the large amount of text in some books; words also have their subtle beauty. If you understand the mysteries of language, you may be able to conjure up a beautiful picture in your mind. Of course, some books have both words and illustrations, which facilitates understanding. When you read the text and look at the pictures, you might feel that the images in the book are vividly alive, as if the things described in the text have already appeared before your eyes.
When you are alone, reading a book you like, don't you feel happy? Reading can help us understand many principles, see the essence of many things clearly, stimulate our wisdom and energy, and teach each of us how to be ourselves.
With books as our friends, the gloom in our hearts quietly disappears; with books as our friends, we can improve our knowledge and cultivation; with books as our friends, some problems we encounter in daily life are no longer problems.
