A person's life is but a matter of fortune and misfortune.
In life, fortune and misfortune come and go, and in the end, we all return to dust. Perhaps you can't be an official, but you can certainly be a good person; perhaps you lack money, but you can certainly be rich.
As for fate, it's said that you can't change what's destined to be yours. There's no need for futile struggles; Heaven has already arranged everything for you.
As for marriage, every broken pot has its lid, and every person has someone who loves them. If you were determined to marry him/her, there must have been a reason. Now, turn a blind eye to his/her intolerances and open one eye to see his/her strengths; no one is perfect.
In a family, a few discordant notes, cleverly put together, might create an exceptionally beautiful melody. It depends on how you appreciate it; the performers, at least, are enjoying themselves.
Friends who want to leave you, don't force them. Bringing them back might only bring back a petty person. True confidants don't need daily phone calls; just be there for them when they need you, ready to go to any lengths.
We often think happiness is far away, in a future we can chase. Later we realize that those we've embraced, those hands we've held, those songs we've sung, those tears we've shed, those we've loved, those so-called memories—that is happiness. In countless nights, the words spoken, the phone calls made, the movies watched, the tears shed… the visible and invisible emotions, we've all experienced them, and then, in the passage of time, everything becomes eternal!
Money is just an external thing; as long as we're not starving, that's enough. So what if he eats well while I eat pickles? We're both full. So what if he wears nice clothes while I wear shabby clothes? We're both warm.
Status is irrelevant to me. He can be a high-ranking official, I can be a commoner. As the skit says: in the end, isn't everyone just a little box? There's no inherent hierarchy of status or wealth. Everyone helps each other, and we help each other. As long as it's legal, do whatever you can. Being broke isn't shameful; just don't do things that cause you pain for the sake of
saving face. Your child is like a savings account given to you by God—not your own account, and the password is unknown. Just keep depositing; when you can withdraw and enjoy it depends on its owner. Don't expect anything in return; consider it a contribution.
Your parents are the ones who opened the account for you. Although they didn't expect a return, it's time for us to repay them many times over. Perhaps even until they leave us, we still won't be able to repay them completely.
Life is full of complexities, but it also makes you feel more relaxed, open-minded, and cheerful. If you argue with everyone and compare yourself to others every day, aren't you just making things difficult for yourself and torturing yourself?
When you're self-aware, everyone around you will also be at peace. Looking back, some of us drive, some ride bikes; some walk; some use crutches; some have no legs; some are even dead…
People's states of mind lead to vastly different experiences of life. The same circumstances can feel like heaven to some, hell to others. Life is like a rose bush; there's no absolute beauty or ugliness, just flowers and thorns—it all depends on what we focus on. A heart full of gratitude brings warmth; a mind that forgives others brings harmony.
If we had never met, I would still be the same person, occasionally dreaming, then starting the daily grind, lost in this bustling city. I wouldn't know that there is someone like you in this world, someone who lingers in my memory, someone who captivates my heart. If we had never met, I wouldn't believe that there are people who feel warm from the moment we meet, people I can never tire of seeing.
In our efforts, don't complain about not having a good father, don't complain about a bad job, don't complain about being unappreciated. Life is full of disappointments, but even if life throws garbage at you, you can still step on that garbage and climb to the top of the world. This world only cares whether you've reached a certain height, not whether you got there by standing on the shoulders of giants or by stepping on garbage.
